Not your ordinary map
Taken at the Milan Native American Trading Post, this map was placed on the wall for many travelers of Route 66 to see and realize in all actuality how far the road actually reaches. This is emphasized by the mention of major cities at points along the linear line and the division of the seven states that Route 66 passes through. It alludes to the change of scenery and environment one might experience.
What I enjoy most about this is the fact that the states are seen as equal representations of Route 66; not one state is more important to visit over any other. Through my experience, it seemed as if the “least important” place became the most interesting.
