How Art and Maps Can Be Combined

The mural in the feature picture shows artistically the geographical markers in the stretch of road, they may not be in the correct spacing from each other, but they still relate the idea of the order and landscape description of the area. This description of the land and the markers that would show someone how to get from one place to another is what determines something as a map, and this mural showed me that something can be a work of art but also something that provides information and utility for people.

The photograph shown below uses a map with a drawing on it to provoke meaning and symbolism in the piece. The combination of a map and art can have different reasons for being together, but they all have reason and meaning in their collaboration.
